Apply for a visa for France in Jamaica

Short stay visa Schengen applications must be submitted to the Spanish Embassy in Jamaica :

Applications for long-stay visas (more than 90 days) and short-stay for overseas departments and collectivities (Guadeloupe, Martinique, St Martin, St Barthélémy, Guyane,…) are examined by the Consulate General of France in Washington D.C. (United States of America). However, the processing of these visa applications has been outsourced to our service provider, which has a visa application center in Kingston.

 Specific case : Long-stay visas to study in France

You are going to France for a degree-seeking program (Bachelor, Masters, MBA, dual degree, joint degree, cotutelle etc.) : in order to apply for a long-stay student visa, you need to obtain a letter from the Cultural services of the French Embassy in Saint Lucia (SCAC notice) prior to having your visa appointment at your TLS location.

  • Your full name, email address and phone number
  • Your last academic transcript
  • The letter of acceptance from a French university or institution, which specifies the dates of study and details of the program.

Your application should also contain proof of accommodation for the first three months and proof of a minimum monthly income of 615 euros (personal bank statement, or your sponsor’s bank statement + a letter of financial support + a copy of their ID, or a letter of Financial Aid showing remaining balance once the tuition fees are paid).

Kindly note that the visa application submission procedure does not end after filling the form online on the France Visas website. You still need to print the application form and take it with you, along with all other required documents, when you submit your application at one of our centers.


What are the application fees?

The fees required for filing a visa application are composed of:

  • Fees are seen in dollars (USD) by the French administration for the processing of your application. Payment is only accepted in US dollars (USD). The amount received is kept by the administration, even in the case of refusal of Visa.
  • Service fees collected by our service provider when you submit your application to the external service provider. The basic service fees are paid in US dollars.
