The "Etudes en France" procedure is compulsory for Japanese students and non-European foreign students residing in Japan, wishing to study in France for more than 3 months.
This procedure is mainly done online and it takes 2 to 3 weeks to complete the procedure. Applications are processed by Campus France Japan and a face-to-face interview is required (exemption for students admitted as part of an exchange programme).
Please note : you must have completed the "Etudes en France" procedure before your appointment at the consulate for the visa application.
The fee for the "Etudes en France" procedure is 20,800 (reduced rate of 15,600 JPY for exchange students) and will result in the application of the half-price student visa of 50 € instead of 99 € (the visa fee must be paid in cash and in Japanese Yen).
