Apply for a visa in Thailand to visit France
Visa applications in Thailand are processed by the French Embassy in Bangkok, which has sole authority to make visa decisions.
The visa application form can be completed online. For the best possible guidance, we invite you to follow the "Visa application steps" and to read the tutorials provided in English and French in this same section.
With the exceptions mentioned below, TLScontact welcomes visa applicants in Bangkok or at the location of your choice via their "Mission Apply Anywhere" service;
You can submit your visa application at the embassy, by appointment only if:
- you are a family member of an EU, EEA or Swiss national (other than France). To make an appointment, please contact our service provider.
- your visa application is for international adoption. To make an appointment, please contact the visa section.
As a general rule, applications must be submitted no earlier than six months and no later than fifteen calendar days before the planned trip. As visa applications can take up to 15 days to process, it is essential to respect the minimum time required to guarantee your departure on time.
Users are therefore asked to anticipate their applications as far as possible, so as to obtain their appointment at the earliest six months and at the latest fifteen days before the date of departure for a short-stay visa, and one month before for a long-stay visa. These deadlines can become considerably longer in high season.
High season in Thailand is from the end of February to the end of July, and from November to December.
Warning: The required supporting documents, listed on the France-Visas website via the visa wizard, must be written in French or English or accompanied by a French or English translation.
The service provider's roles
The service provider :
- is an intermediary in charge of collecting and transferring applications to the visa department of the French Embassy in Bangkok;
- has no decision-making power over the outcome of your application, whatever services you choose;
- must take the documents presented;
- must, if necessary, inform you that your file is incomplete. An incomplete application may result in a refusal.
Warning : The use of additional services is a personal choice for greater convenience and is not obligatory. They do not entitle you to a visa, nor to faster processing of your application by the French Embassy or Consulate.

- Official authorization letter (downloadable template) provided by the French Embassy (fully completed, signed and being the one submitted and the one verified by TLScontact).
IMPORTANT: All above documents are mandatory. In case of change of representative, please contact the TLScontact.
By post:
Your passport can be returned to you by post.
