Applying for a visa in the Zimbabwe to visit France
Visa applications submitted in Zimbabwe are examined by the French Embassy in Harare; only the French Embassy is authorised to take decisions about visas.
Once you have compiled your visa application, you can submit it at the window corresponding to your situation.

Making an appointment
When you have the necessary time and all the documents required for your application, you can make an appointment.

Only group bookings appointment (for professional purposes and a group having at least 5 people) and student visa application (long term visas for France) bookings can be sent by email to the visa section at : admin-etrangers.harare-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr. Stricly no appointment will be given by telephone.
Appointment waiting times
In order to avoid any disappointment, it is highly recommended to book an appointment well in advance of your scheduled departure date, at least 3 weeks (15 working days) before the scheduled departure for Europe.

Application documents
You must have all the following documents before you visit the Visa Application Centre:
A valid passport with at least two blank pages. Your passport’s expiry date must be at least three months after the expiry date of the requested visa;
A print out of your appointment confirmation letter bearing the same number as your passport;
A printed, dated and signed copy of the application form and a recent passport photograph in the ISO/IEC format (pdf);
List of supporting documents;
The supporting documents indicated on the list and presented in the same order as the list and ticked off the list.
Payment to cover the visa fees, if you have not already paid, in cash payments are strictly in US dollars CASH and excact change must be given dollars.

The supporting documents you have to provide depend on the purpose of your trip and the category of visa you want to apply for. To see which supporting documents you need to provide for your application, please consult the visa wizard. You can also see which documents you will require when you start your online application.
Reception
At reception (comprising several windows), a visa officer will check whether your application is complete i.e. you have all the documents on the list provided by the French consular authorities.
If your visa application is incomplete (i.e. missing documents), you may choose not to submit your application until you have all the required documents and come back to the Centre at a later date and after making a new appointment. You will not have to pay any visa processing fees if you decide not to submit your application at this time.
However, if you do decide to submit an incomplete application, you will be asked to sign a document indicating that your application is incomplete and that certain documents are missing.
Submitting a complete application does not guarantee that the consular authorities will issue you with a visa.
Processing delay : 5 full working days/incomplete fils will not be processed
Visa application submission window
At the visa application submission window, the visa officer will register your application. Your application will be placed in a folder, which will be given to you before you visit the biometric booth
Biometrics
In the biometrics booth, fingerprints will be taken.
Children under 12 years of age: children under 12 years of age are not required to provide the biometric data; the application must be submitted by the child’s parent/legal guardian. The photograph in the ISO/IEC format (pdf) of the child will be scanned.
After visiting the biometric booth, you can leave the visa application centre.

Collecting your passport
You can collect your passport yourself.
Security information
When you visit a French Consulate, you must not bring any weapons or dangerous items with you. Security checks will be performed before you are admitted to the premises.
Particular situations
Official passports.
Visas issued to holders of official passports (i.e. related to their functions) are free of charge.
Representation of African third countries
- France issues short stay visas on behalf of other States: Burkina Faso, Central African Republic,djibouti, Gabon, Mauritania and Togo.
Other
People residing in Zimbabwe :
All persons residing in Zimbabwe must make an appointment at the French Embassy in Harare to apply for a visa.
Representation of other Schengen States :
The Visa section of the French Embassy is also issuing visas for the following countries:
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Sweden, Switzerland and Iceland.
Fees
Fees are charged by the French administration to process your visa application. Payment is only accepted in US dollars (USD). The amount received is kept by the administration, even in the case of refusal of Visa.
