Nationality of family member

His/Her country of nationality belongs to the European Union (other than France), to the European Economic Area (EEA), or is Switzerland.

Your family situation

You are:

  • The spouse;
  • The direct descendant or dependant under the age of 21;
  • The direct dependant older relative;
  • The direct dependant older relative or descendant of the spouse.

If the family member is a student, only the spouse and the direct descendant are concerned.

Your visa

Check with the visa wizard if you need a short-stay visa.

If you need one, you will be issued a short-stay visa which will allow you, after your arrival in France, to stay there for more than 3 months or to settle there by applying for a residence permit from the prefecture of your place of residence.
