The Consular section and the Consulate General of France have resumed their activity of visa issuance.

The appointments scheduling process remains the same.

Centers are open as following :

  • TLS Contact center in Hanoi :
    • Standard appointment : Mondays to Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and Saturdays (Prime Time Week-end) 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
    • Passport Return : Mondays to Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays (Prime Time Week-end) 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • TLS Contact center in Ho Chi Minh :
    • Standard appointment : Mondays to Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and Saturdays (Prime Time Week-end) 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
    • Passport Return : Mondays to Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays (Prime Time Week-end) 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Social distancing measures and use of protective equipment are put in place to preserve everyone's health.

The issuance of a visa does not guarantee the possibility of immediate entry into the territory, which remains determined by the restrictions applicable at the borders. Submit your application at a visa centre for France, in Vietnam

Visa applications submitted in Vietnam are examined by the French Embassy in Hanoi or the General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh-city; the Embassy or Consulate General are authorized to make decisions regarding visas only.

Visa applicants can visit, upon appointment, the TLScontact Centre in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh-city  in order to have their visa application processed.

The time of instruction varies according to the nationality of the applicant, the type of the applied visa and the time of appointment. It is recommended to request an appointment as soon as you know your dates of travel.

The online visa application is made via the France-Visas form. The visa application must be accompanied by the supporting documents requested by France-Visas. Only the lists of receipts submitted by France-Visas are authentic.

For all special cases, holder of service or diplomatic passports, refer to the section “Special features”.

 Applications shall be processed within 15 calendar days of the date of lodging of an admissible application. 

  • In individual cases, notably when further scrutiny is needed or in cases of representation, this period may be extended up to 30 calendar days.
  • When additional documentation is needed; the period may be extended up to 60 calendar days.

Caution: Cerfa form in draft

The day of your appointment you must imperatively present your CERFA in final paper version. It must not have the word "DRAFT".

If your CERFA has the mention "DRAFT", this means that your application is not finalized on France-Visas and will therefore be refused on the day of filing.


Beware of fraudulent sites

Visa applicants are advised to be cautious in all dealings with companies that claim to offer assistance in obtaining French visas.


The day of your appointment:

Attention, the day of your appointment you must print and come with your receipt. In case of absence of a document present on your receipt, your visa application can be refused.
