United Arab Emirates

Submit your application at the France Visa Application Center, in the United Arab Emirates

Since 6 May 2015, Emirati citizens are exempted from entry visas in France and the Schengen States for stays of less than 90 days.

All visas applications for France in the United Arab Emirates are processed exclusively by the Consular section in Abu Dhabi. Visa applicants residing in the United Arab Emirates are able to apply with the VFS Centre in Abu Dhabi.

Kindly note that the visa application submission procedure does not end after filling the form online on the France Visas website. You still need to print the application form and take it with you, along with all other required documents, when you submit in person your application at a VFS center.

Whom should I contact?

Applicants residing in the territory of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, or in the territory of one of the six Northern Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm al Qouwain and Ras al Khaimah) who apply for a visa to travel to France as a unique or main destination, may apply with VFS Global Centre in Abu Dhabi.

Visas are handled exclusively at the Consular section in Abou Dabi. The General Consulate of France in Dubai no longer has a visa section since 2019.

For Students: before submitting your visa application form to the relevant VFS Global Center, please first contact our Campus France office at the United Arab Emirates by email at campusfrance@if-uae.com.

Reception
At the visa application counter, an employee of VFS checks to see if the contents of your file correspond to the list of required documents provided by the French Consular Authority.   VFS employees are not allowed to express an opinion on the quality of the file or the decision to be made by the Consular Authority.

If the content of your application does not correspond to the list of required documents (missing documents), you can decide not to submit your file, to complete it and to return to the Visa Center another day by getting a new appointment; if you do not submit your file, you will not have to pay a visa fee, but the service fees paid online will not be refunded;

If you decide to file an incomplete file, the VFS employee will ask you to sign a document indicating that your file is incomplete and which documents will be missing. An application without the complete set of documents according to the checklist mentioned on the website may result in the rejection of the visa application.

The French Embassy in Abu Dhabi reserves the right to request additional supporting documents if necessary. Issuance of the visa cannot be guaranteed.

The filing of a complete file does not in any way mean that the Consular Authority will issue you the visa requested.
